Sony Ericsson revealed the two latest additions to its Walkman® phone portfolio. The W890 and W380 Walkman® phones are stylish new offerings packed with features sure to set music lovers’ pulses racing.
The Sony W380 Walkman phone combines a unique clamshell design with all the music credibility users expect from Sony Ericsson’s Walkman phones. The phone packs in innovative features, including Gesture Control, that allow users to mute calls with a wave of their hand. There is also an external display that comes to life only when you need it; to show the name of a music track or to let you know who is calling.

In addition to offering the Walkman® player 2.0 and TrackID™ track recognition, the W380 includes a 1.3 Megapixel camera, Memory Stick Micro™ removable storage, HTML browser, RSS feed support and 3D gaming with both JSR 184 and Mascot Capsule version 3.
The W890 Walkman® phone is designed for entertainment – music, video, 3D games and high-speed web access – and includes the Walkman features TrackID™ and SensMe™, a new way to browse music files using tempo and style. This slimline UMTS/HSDPA phone includes a 320×240 pixel 262K TFT QVGA display, 3.2 megapixel camera, Memory Stick Micro™ removable storage, picture & video blogging, media browser and Media Manager content transfer software.
The W890 is based on Sony Ericsson’s Java™ Platform 8 (JP-8), supporting Mobile Services Architecture (MSA) JSR 248, the next-generation Java umbrella standard. MSA aims to reduce fragmentation in the industry by creating a predictable environment for developers, reducing porting issues when developing new applications and games for the new generation of phones.
