I got this in my email box:
Which way is the school bus traveling ?
Right or left ?

You don’t see the difference?
Look carefully at the picture if you are having a hard time.
This picture was shown to Preschoolers and they were asked which direction the school bus was traveling and 90% said that “the bus was traveling to the left”
When asked how they got that answer, they said:
“The bus had to be traveling to the left because the door was not seen”.
Now how do you feel?

I know, me too!!
“The purpose of life is not to be happy. It is to be useful, to be honorable, to be compassionate, to have it make some difference that you have lived and lived well”

They are smart, aren’t they.
But it would depends on which side of the road that the bus is travelling on. UK and US motorists drive on different side of the road.

Okay… here’s where cultural differences come in. I said it was travelling to the right because I couldn’t see the door. We drive in the left hand lane Down Here, eh?
Good little puzzler though!
Cheers.

My heart was telling me to the right probably because we travel on the left side of the road over here. Hence, the door is on the left.
The thing is, I cannot explain why I think so. This is something special about those kids.

LOL, pretty good!
I tried to outsmart them by thinking “forward” which would depict no specific direction, lol. But their rationale is keen. I never even gave a second thought to the door.

in china I have seen bus with doors from other side (it travels inner circle) I was confused by it at first, very unusual.
trick of this puzzle is that bus which is shown schematically we don’t treat as something real, so why there should be a door. but for kids this pic looks more rea I guess.
anyway nice one
